Erbium oxide is a pink powder with the formula Er2O3. It is easy to absorb moisture and carbon dioxide, and is transformed into hexagonal crystallization when heated to 1300ºC, and does not melt.
Erbium oxide is used as an additive for magnetic materials and phosphors, and as a raw material for special light-emitting glass; It is mainly used as yttrium iron garnet admixture and control material of nuclear reactor. It can also be used to manufacture special luminescent glass and glass that absorbs infrared rays.
