Propylene glycol can be used as raw material for unsaturated polyester resin, epoxy resin, plasticizers, surfactants and PU resin, mainly used for paint, coating and plastic industries.
In cosmetics, can be used as a wetting agent and emollient, because of good viscosity and hygroscopicity.In daily chemical is an important solvent.It used as an antifreeze, also an important material for Tobacco Humectant.
PG (propylene glycol), referred to as PG, is a colorless and transparent viscous liquid, odorless, slightly sweet in taste, and hygroscopic. The properties are basically the same as glycerin, but the viscosity, toxicity and irritation are less than glycerin. It has good solubility, can dissolve many drugs, local anesthetics, vitamin A, vitamin D and many volatile oils, and can mix with water and glycerin.
